Making your way from Kuala Lumpur to Genting is quite easy if you know the bus departure stations and timings. I referred to http://gogenting.com.my/by-express-bus/ for transportation details and it definitely made my life easier.
We were supposed to take the express bus up Genting that day but we missed it right before our eyes. The bus waits for no one even if you are one minute late. With no intention of waiting for another 2 hours, we decided to take Grab Car to the resort. It took around 30-40 minutes and cost Rm 100 (SGD$32). Considering the time saved, the money spent is worth it.

Located high among the clouds, Resorts World Genting is a recreational power house that provides exquisite entertainment, dining and shopping experience at 6,000 feet above sea level. If you are a member of the resort, dining and shopping will be 10% cheaper as the membership acts like a discount card.

Burger & Lobster

My one and only reason for going Genting is to get a taste of the fresh lobsters at Burger & Lobster. Being the first outlet in Southeast Asia, the menu in Genting shares similar theme to Burger & Lobster London. For those who are clueless to what it offers, B&L has only three choices on its menu – The Lobsters (lobsters steamed, grilled, or in a chilli sauce), The Lobster Rolls (classic, Seven Samurai, or The Chilli) and The Burgers (made from supreme halal-grade beef). We made a swift decision (record breaking) to order a steamed whole lobster and classic lobster roll.

Steamed lobsters are usually more flavourful and tender as steaming is a more gentle process of cooking. This cooking method retains both the sweetness and freshness of meat. With our bibs on, we tucked into the juicy crustaceans immediately once served. Although the sweet and tender lobster meat is a satisfying eat, I must admit that it is not enough to fill a ravenous stomach. Fortunately, the generous portion of fries and salad it comes with is enough to satiate us.

This is the best

Their classic lobster roll is stuffed with a considerable amount of steamed lobster meat that has a firm bite on the outside and tender follow through. The bread roll is toasted crispy with a light buttery taste which does not overshadow the taste of meat. Everything from steaming the lobster to toasting the bread is immaculately done.

After the meal, we were all ready to test our luck.

Genting Grand Palace

If you love dim sum, give this place a try. It has pretty decent har gao and siew mai to satisfy your dim sum craving. However, refrain from going early in the morning as the queue is snaking long. Try going at brunch o’clock instead to enjoy some peace and quiet while eating.

Awana Skyway

Newly opened, it just takes 10 minutes to ascend the mountain from Awana to SkyAvenue Station with Awana Skyway! Convenience aside, sitting the gondolas up Genting Resort also gives us the bird’s eye view of Chin Swee Temple and a spectacular sight of the rainforest.

Lush greenery

The bus back to Genting is extremely luxurious. We were very surprised at the grandeur of it as we only paid SGD $28/pax. There was not only a seat-back screen for us to watch movies but also a busboy at our disposal! The 10 hours journey exceeded our expectations and for once, I did not complain about neck pain.

Enjoying every minute of it

The trip is a fruitful one as I have fulfilled my wish. 😀
